Anxiety & Depression Art Therapy Group

This group offers a safe space to slow down, express what’s hard to put into words, and learn practical ways to cope with anxiety and depression. Through art-making, reflection, and conversation, you’ll gain tools to regulate emotions, reduce stress, and build self-awareness. No art experience is required—just an openness to explore creativity as part of your healing process.

What to Expect:

  • A welcoming, nonjudgmental environment focused on emotional well-being

  • Guided art activities that support self-expression and stress relief

  • Opportunities for group discussion and personal reflection

  • Evidence-based strategies woven into creative work

Themes We’ll Explore:

  1. Welcome & Intentions – Getting to know the group and setting personal goals for the series

  2. Understanding Anxiety & Depression – What’s happening in the brain and body, and how art can help

  3. Grounding & Regulation – Creative practices to calm the nervous system and ease overwhelm

  4. Challenging Negative Self-Talk – Using art to reframe inner dialogue and build self-compassion

  5. Processing Emotions Safely – Expressing big feelings through color, texture, and imagery

  6. Building Coping Skills – Creative strategies for managing triggers and hard moments

  7. Connection & Support – Strengthening social bonds and reducing isolation through shared experience

  8. Closing & Moving Forward – Reflecting on progress and creating a personal plan for continued growth

Each session is 75 minutes, trauma-informed, and focused on giving you tools to support your mental health beyond the group. Come for one or all eight sessions—the experience deepens with consistency.
